We've had a lot going on here at Belladonna's Botanicals in the first 10 years of 2025 so I figured that I would write a longer form blog post. I am having a minor surgical procedure at the end of the month - nothing major - its just the 4ish week recovery time in which I have weight restrictions to contend with. Lamia NightStorm also had surgery recently so restocks will be on hold. We also made some changes to Vanessa Diamond's services offerings, and lastly we are in the beginning plans of leaving ALL meta platforms. Apologies for being behind on answering questions, making videos, and being behind on orders.
We are almost caught up on all orders from our New Years Sale - we had a lot of large orders and a lot of restocks and custom work as well. Most should be ready to go out on Tuesday, January 21st. I also have had numerous doctors appointments and physical therapy every week.
Jennifer Updates
I am having a minor surgical procedure at the end of the month. The only major disruptor is that I will have a 10 pound weight restriction - which means things like needing help to get orders to the post office and UPS. Most days that's a 10 pound minimum. I don't think there will be any other major issues otherwise - though I am sad to not be able to take baths for a month due to stitches. I prefer a good soak to a shower, plus it keeps my rainbow hair colors from fading too much. I will keep everyone posted just know that order processing may be slower at times. Additionally, the Faire wholesale Insider market and sale runs from January 22-24th so I very likely will have an uptick in wholesale orders to contend with as well. I suppose I should also get around to doing inventory for taxes, but I am low on spoons so that's last on my priority list right now. I forgot to add that I also have another round of spinal injections towards the end of February. Being chronically ill just means your social life is mostly doctors appointments and medical procedures.
Lamia NightStorm Updates
She is recovering well after surgery. Restocks on dirts, necklaces, and other items will probably be on hold until sometime in February. Also we both live in the Northeast so collecting dirt becomes a challenge due to frozen ground or snow. Additionally, her service offerings and custom spirit necklaces are on hold as well. Leaving Meta Platforms
After recent announcements and changes to Meta becoming another pro-fascist bootlicker platform like Twitter, we are considering our options of leaving all Meta platforms and services as a result. It just is taking a little longer because my personal accounts are tied to business ones. I've had my personal account on Facebook for 16 years.
I used to love social media - heck I was even a social media manager for years at one of my old jobs. Over the past few years, I found myself growing to dislike "having to be on social media" I deleted my personal Twitter a few years ago and my professional one last year. Its no big loss. The algorithms are killing us - less than 1% of our followers/subscribers even see our content anymore on Facebook or Instagram. Threads has been better - but its only if you are conversational and commenting on other posts. it takes a lot of time and interaction and still business related posts get less than 1% traction. Deleted my person TikTok a couple years ago and deleted my professional once it came back online today. I am sure it will get bought out by the fascist bootlicker billionaires.
I'll be 50 in June and have been online since 1994. I know how to exist without social media or I know how to build my own communities. That said, We will still be on YouTube. I have a Blue Sky account, but need to separate out personal and professional. We are investigating other platforms and whatnot. We will be ramping up Patreon and Discord as well.
